This opportunity focuses on research addressing the opioid epidemic and priority areas for enhancing the systems of drug abuse prevention, treatment, and harm reduction in New York State.
Duties and responsibilities:
· Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the successful execution of research objectives.
· Contribute to the development and writing of grant proposals for extramural and/or intramural funding.
· Assist in the development and implementation of research plans.
· Summarize relevant literature and contribute innovative ideas to enhance the quality and impact of grant submissions.
· Conduct focus groups facilitating research goals and analyze discussion content.
· Present research plans and results to faculty, collaborators/partners, and institutional/community stakeholders.
· Prepare and disseminate research findings through publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at conferences.
· Collaborate with team members to create reports, articles, and other documents for diverse audiences.
· Participate in Department of Emergency Medicine research division projects and&nbs
Specific projects include:
- documenting the use of and assessing the effectiveness of fentanyl and xylazine test strips
- evaluating the effectiveness of telemedicine for providing medication‐assisted therapy
- understanding the perspectives of individuals in opiate treatment and recovery peer support roles.
