Watch this recording of this October 24th virtual panel discussion featuring John Blevins, Streaming and Sales Director at Gamecorps. The session also featured Ed Brodka, from the Career Development Center showing how to use LinkedIn and Bullseye powered by Handshake to find jobs, internships, UB alums and professionals in gaming and esports.
Find UB alums or any professional in esports or gaming just go into LinkedIn. In the Search box, type “esports”, then search by People, then search by filters and find School, type University at Buffalo and do that search to see a list of UB students and alums who went to UB and have esports as a keyword in their profile. You can also filter that list by the company they work for.
Start with this list provided to by James Basta, UB Coordinator of Esports:
Game companies
Riot Games
Nintendo
Activision
Epic Games
Ubisoft
Konami Gaming
Electronic arts
Esports Organizations
Team Liquid
Cloud 9
Fnatic
G2 Esports
Next, get into LinkedIn and put one of the company names into the search box. That takes you to that company’s LinkedIn page. Then click on where it says something “1K – 5K employees”. That gives you a list of all the people who work at the company who are on LinkedIn. Can filter that list by where they went to school, etc. Filter down to keyword, job title and put in “intern” to find interns at the company. Can reach out to them on LinkedIn and set up a meeting with them by connecting with them on LinkedIn to ask for advice about working at that company.
