How to apply for funding to do an internship at a Non-Profit organization

1-minute read

Funding for internships at non-profits may be available to you!

Internships serve as an invaluable bridge from college to career and provide students an opportunity to gain practical, hands-on training and experience within industry. There is an award, funded by the State University of New York (SUNY), that will allow the Career Design Center to help fund University at Buffalo undergraduate and graduate students partaking in unpaid spring internships with non-profit or government organizations.

The Career Design Center is awarding up to $3,500 to UB students that have secured unpaid internships with non-profit or government organizations for the spring 2025 semester!

To increase access and minimize barriers to internship participation, students from historically underserved, underrepresented, and/or marginalized backgrounds will be prioritized for this opportunity.

To apply, please follow the steps below:

Log in to the UB Scholarship Portal using your UBIT credentials.

✅Complete the ‘General Application’ using the yellow highlighted link near the top of the page that reads, “complete your general application.” *If you already have a ‘General Application’ on file, you can skip this step.*

✅Apply to the ‘Career Design Center Internship Equity Fund’
