While these opportunities may have a specific campus associated with them, they are open to all SUNY students who meet their criteria, (which includes UB!).
SUNY Washington Internship Program
Spend a semester or summer living and learning in the heart of the nation’s capital—intern with top organizations, connect with influential professionals, earn college credit, and explore career paths you’re passionate about.
Through the SUNY Washington Internship Program, you’ll dive into hands-on experiences four days a week at internships tailored to your goals. Fridays? They’re for behind-the-scenes access—engaging seminars, networking with guest speakers, and exploring iconic spots like the U.S. Capitol, Supreme Court, Library of Congress, and Smithsonian museums. Hear directly from our students about their internship experiences in DC.
The program is open to juniors, seniors, and grad students from any of our SUNY or private partners, this program often leads to job offers, future internships, higher education and much more—whether from your internship or the powerful connections you’ll make along the way.
SUNY Global Engagement Program
The SUNY Global Engagement Program provides students with the opportunity to spend a semester immersed in international affairs in the world’s most important global city, New York City. Enrolled students complete an internship with a global organization, a research program and an integrated class at the SUNY Global Center. This program offers options to undertake work and study in fields related to global affairs, including politics, education, the arts, the social and natural sciences and business.
New York State Assembly Internship Program
The Assembly Session Internship is a comprehensive academic program which gives qualified students the chance to work in the New York State Assembly.
All Majors are Encouraged to Apply
To be eligible, applicants must be:
- Undergraduate students who are full-time juniors and seniors matriculated in a college degree program or
- Graduate students or applicants who recently completed a graduate degree program within one year of graduation.
