UB Department of Psychology looking for Administrative Assistant
Job Candidate should be a master’s or Ph.D. level student currently registered at the University at Buffalo that can stay on for a minimum of one year. Some of the work in the job is business in nature, and the candidate should have knowledge of different computer systems and business practices/
Responsibilities include:
- Capable of aiding staff, faculty, and students with various ad hoc tasks.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on courtesy and customer service
- Dependable, reliable, punctual, and detail oriented
- Assist with shipping and receiving.
- Assist with inventory and assets coordination for equipment, computers and software and space survey.
- Assist with answering main office phones and reception.
- Assist with departmental events.
- Assist as one of the departmental contact for all misc. requests and triage to appropriate people.
- Assist with photo copying for department and faculty.
- Assist with facilities work orders, complete equipment and furniture disposal forms.
- Work with the chair to get lab and office space ready for incoming faculty and staff (technology, furniture, clean-outs and renovations.
- Assist with pertinent files and records in accordance with CAS and University policies, digital file management and platform.
- Assist with visitors (seminar speakers, faculty/staff candidates) work with staff on itineraries, reservations and shared services teams.
- Flexibility in scheduling, with a maximum commitment of 20 hours per week, and availability to work during the summer break.
- A self-motivated and proactive individual with a strong desire to learn and assist others.
- Must be proactive work ethic and great personal skills to be in a front office/reception setting.
