Inspire, Educate, and Grow with Us!
Are you ready to embark on a rewarding journey in early childhood education? We’re seeking a passionate and experienced Preschool Teacher to join our vibrant program. If you’re driven by a deep understanding of child development, a commitment to fostering creativity and critical thinking, and a dedication to creating a nurturing environment, then you’re exactly who we’re looking for!
Who We Are:
The Gan Yeladim Early Childhood Center is a Jewish, Reggio-inspired preschool committed to excellence in early childhood education. We provide an environment that is emotionally secure and supportive of children, families, and staff. We believe in active, hands-on learning, and our bright, expansive classrooms include a wide variety of authentic, developmentally appropriate materials. As educators we strive to build upon the unique strengths and interests of each child and to help children become independent thinkers by offering meaningful choices, asking open-ended questions, and listening closely with the intent to understand and respond.
What You Will Be Doing:
Celebrate Learning:
- Create and sustain a weekly schedule that clearly lays out the aims, targets, and tasks for every class, following the Director’s instructions.
- Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate, and use, both in learning activities and in imaginative play.
- Observe, evaluate, document, and celebrate children’s achievements and milestones using various assessment tools, providing valuable insights into their growth and development.
- Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their children’s progress and needs, determine their priorities for their children, and suggest ways that they can promote learning and development
- Teach basic skills as well as personal hygiene, proper eating habits, and social skills; adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet the varying needs/interests of each child.
Forge Connections:
- Help parents check in their children and take attendance daily
- Communicate with parents daily via Remini, including details and pictures from each day
- Build meaningful relationships with children and families based on trust, respect, and open communication, creating a supportive community where every voice is valued
Collaborate and Innovate:
- Work hand-in-hand with fellow teachers and staff to plan and execute engaging projects and events that inspire curiosity and deepen learning.
- Attend staff meetings and collaborate with the team to plan lessons following approved curricula. Review and adjust programs when needed.
- Maintain accurate and complete student records and reports as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations
Create a Safe Haven:
- Maintain a welcoming, clean, and safe learning environment where children feel empowered to explore, discover, and thrive.
- Attend to children’s basic needs by assisting with clothing and changing diapers as necessary
- Organize, label, and display students’ work reflecting the current theme and/or class interest
- Comply with all current state and local educational requirements and enforce all administration policies, rules, and procedures governing students
Invest in Growth:
- Seize opportunities for professional development to enhance your skills and expertise, ensuring you continue to evolve and excel as a teacher.
- Take time to reflect on your teaching practices, classroom experiences, and student outcomes. Regular self-reflection allows you to identify strengths, areas for improvement, and strategies for growth.
- Stay current with educational literature by reading books, research articles, and educational blogs. Explore topics related to pedagogy, classroom management, educational psychology, and innovative teaching strategies.
