Despite setbacks including missing the Olympic qualification and the pandemic, Shaun eventually won Olympic gold in Tokyo 2020 with the New Zealand Team. However, his single focus on performance and this medal left a void outside of rowing. In a very creative way, Shaun developed his marketing skills and became a successful entrepreneur leading a digital marketing firm.
